Mike,

Think about covering it rather than removing it. I have used a pigmented wax to cover areas like this. Not perfect, but serviceable and easy to apply. Email me and I will give you the maker and source. However, I believe it only comes in shades of gold. Used it with my recently sold R2.

You need to remove all the console plates, shifter etc to unscrew the clips that hold the trim on. You will ruin the trim if you try it any other way.

I used one of those pry tools they sell to remove the door cards. If you are careful, you can get it off without damaging it.

Remember that the clips that hold the trim are captured by the lips on the back of the chrome. If you pry them off, something has to yield to release them.

They may be OK if pried off but the odds are way to small for me to try that method. JMHO
