BillyBob
OK, so now I have my '63 Avanti radio converted with updated guts -- how do I install the darned thing?
Gunslinger
Does your car have a/c? If not, you might be able to install it from underneath by taking off the console plate (on some cars this doesn't work). If you have a/c, your only alternative is to remove the dash. That's not that difficult process but is a pain. The shop manual has good instructions how to do that. I think Studebaker designed the car by starting with the radio and building a car around it.
