Ryunker Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Once again I ask for direction with the 1967 Avanti II. I have to fix the leak in the transmission, what is the correct transmission fluid? dextron, mercron, or type F? any comments or opinions will be appreachiated. Rich
Gunslinger Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I'm assuming you have the original Borg-Warner Power Shift automatic. Type F is probably the best choice...it will give you firmer shifts. Dexron will give smoother shifts, but I believe most will recommend Type F.
