I just used a shop towel the same day i posted this. Shimmed it through and it popped out the clip. The clip was on reverse. Towards the arm rest. The tool wasn't working. But

Nope, the front coil is contained by the A-arms and the shock just bolts in.
Be sure your shock have a pin in the bottom mount that spans the distance between the mounting bolts.
Wait what pin do you mean. Like a bar pin?

Thank you so much.

Curious question. Just got new shocks. Curious if I need a spring compressor for the front on my 83 or if I can do it without one.

I know that. It won't come off pull off it's just not happening. Even my neighbor who knows a lot can't get it off.

I've tried everything everyone's explained. It just won't happen. I'm thinking, maybe if I can cut the cardboard out of the inside of the door I can have better access to the clip? It seems maybe the clip is pushed behind the interior door and inside the cardboard. I'm about so close to just saying f it and ripping it out. (Not really gonna do that)

I have the tool now. I've been trying to put it behind the handle and it just won't pop it out. Pretty big pain in my ass

Yeah. The handle is my problem and then I'm good from there. Gotta find the tool and then I'll have it off. Thank you very much!

How do i tighten a wheel bearing? Got brackets made for my front shocks. Guy said some play in my wheel bearing should tighten and grease it. I know I could just Google it but I wanna know specifically from someone who's done it on their Avanti. 58k miles on the car. Should i go ahead and replace it or should I tighten and grease it?
Thx
