I'm getting my 87 reupholstered. Leather is now costing over $600/hide and I'm told the Avanti will need 5.5 hides for seats and door panels. Does anyone know what the front seats are from? Someone thought they were from a Caddilac (?)

It turns out the battery cable connection was loose.

Thanks guys. My mechanic identified the master brake cylinder as from a 72 Ford (I don't know the model). Have not yet tried the brakes as when I went to start the engine, it made a clunk sound and nothing else. He suspects starter issue. Glad it happened at the shop and not on the road. Many thanks for your responses!! Jim

My repairman identified the master brake cylinder as a likely suspect of a problem, however he says the master cylinder he is looking at in the car does not seem to come from a 1987 Monte Carlo. Does anyone have any information regarding what it really is? Many thanks. JIm

I met with one of the best fabricators in our state (NY) several months ago for an estimate and, unfortunately, am still waiting as he's so busy. If I ever get an answer, I will post here. Tks
