I suspect like most other Studebakers. Markings on the firewall, such as 'wood dash'

I'm surprised Sherwood Egbert didn't use any 'colorful' language in his letter: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?55790-quot-Our-dealers-are-screaming-for-the-cars-quot-Sherwod-Egbert-6-13-62&highlight=screaming+Egbert

The set targeted at various professionals, i.e., doctors, lawyers, computer programmers, etc. The one targeted at the computer programmers is probably the most interesting.

Possibly, but Doehler had one made up with a leather interior for his personal use.....So who knows!!
That quote in Post #7 was from George Krem when he completed the compilation of all the (Studebaker) Avanti production orders and broke them down and published them his Avanti monograph currently available as SNM, and stated two Avantis had 'special interiors' including #4765. J.M. Husvar was the Trim Engineer, and his name has showed on a few production orders or modification instructions, including the 20 special 1964 Studebaker Marshals with their interesting bucket-in-a-bench seat for the driver. I suggested 4765 could have been a 1964 interior mule because it was tagged 'J Husvar'. According to George Krem, two 1963 Avantis had 'special interiors'. Here is George's original post: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?51160-Avanti-Production-Statistics-now-available&highlight=husvar

Here's a 'curve ball'. As per the production records, Avanti #4765 was sent to engineering with the attached, "Tag experimental trim....attn J. Husvar. No interior code or interior color was listed. That car was one of two "Special" interior '63s.
Could this Avanti have had the "1964" interior?

I was going to say Granada Ghia, but the Mustang II may have also used them.

Inside rear-view mirror size & placement? Seems to me, they were still monkeying with that after production started.

Probably John Ebstein E.T. Reynolds referred to him as the 'father' of the Avanti in his autobiography.

The 1991 Caprice used a different frame, and 'new' 1990 & earlier frames were becoming NLA.

Nope, Not 21! Any other opinions here?
I guess it would help if I read the question CORRECTLY!! I believe the answer is two NON-package cars get painted Super Red.

21 with Powershift and 9 four speeds, as per post #5 here: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?45799-63-R2-Hawks&highlight=bellingham+maroon

Then it must be black, which would be common to Avantis and other Studebakers.

Avanti Gray. A Daytona convertible was special ordered in that color.

Probably Sherwood Egbert

I thought it was 9

False. A rear speaker was still a $12.95 extra, regardless which radio was ordered.
Craig

False. It was the opposite. I remember in the 1978 N&A catalog, the rectangular front masks being available, and the round ones NLA, and did recommend using the rectangular ones as a substitute.

I believe that was true. I have seen an R-M ad showing an Avanti that was painted with their finishes.

Thank you!
Now back to the question. A carefully worded telegram was ready to be sent to all the newswires, but the South Bend Tribune broke the news ahead of the game.
