rgallatin Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) A category for Luxury Muscle Cars? Hagerty and Fox News think so and include the Avanti. Avanti Luxury Muscle Car page added to www.theavanti.net Edited September 16, 2016 by rgallatin
GlennW Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Interesting, Hagerty claims the exact same 5 cars as THEIR picks.
wapanzica Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 The article is sponsored by Hagerty so that is where they got the information.
GlennW Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) Thx, I missed that. Hagerty also included the 1963/64 Avanti in a similar article of "5 Most love 'em or hate 'em" cars. (better than being forgotten, IMHO) Edited September 15, 2016 by GlennW
TMA62 Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 I read that the Studebaker Avanti was the first generation muscle car. Given the era (1962-3), I would concur. But this 'love it or hate it' description of the car, I don't agree with it. I have never run into anyone who hates the appearance. At worse, people are indifferent to the Avanti.
GlennW Posted September 19, 2016 Report Posted September 19, 2016 Does, "Boy, that looks stupid." count, because I know of folks who say/have said that.
StudeNorm Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Yup... I've heard the same comment. "Where's the grill? That looks stupid!" When I tell them that just about every NASCAR race car uses the same under-bumper air intake setup they usually just say "Sure, but at least they paint on a grill where it is supposed to be."
Dan Boone Posted February 1, 2017 Report Posted February 1, 2017 I used to hate my car when my brother owned it and before he sunk some money in it on interior and paint. Now I think it is very beautiful and unique.
