psdenno Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Here's an Avanti trivia question from the quiz at the recent Palm Springs Meet. Name two places where you find your Studebaker Avanti’s production number hand written on parts of the car.

I’ve seen serial number hand written on inner door (upholstery removed) Is that what you mean by production number?

Thanks for asking. No, I'm referring to the Production Order Line Number as listed in the Line Number Box on the Passenger Car Production Order form and the multipage Vehicle Inspection Report. Also, my '63 R2 VIN is R2470 and the handwritten inner door number you mentioned is 1470 on both doors. Interesting.

I have no idea where that PO# you mention can be found on Stude Avantis…. However, I’d like to know!!

psdenno Posted 15 hours ago Author Report Posted 15 hours ago When you remove the front seats from your Avanti, turn them upside down and look at the bottom side of the fiberglass seat bottom. The Production Order Line Number is handwritten in marker on the underside of the seat in large digits.
