Brooks Barnes Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 The door is shut and the outside door opening handle is not on the door. The interior door card is off of the door and the inside latch handle is not attached.... there are two rods on the upper part of the inside of the door ... which one is the one to open the latch?
AG-R3 Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 The upper rod is attached to the lock, the lower to the door handle

I don’t think that you are using this forum improperly… however, anyone who owns a pre-1987 Avanti and doesn’t obtain a shop manual for it is missing out on some really basic information. ( I’m referring to the 63-‘64 Studebaker Avanti shop manual, which covers many things pertaining to later year Avanti ll models.)
Brooks Barnes Posted July 1 Author Report Posted July 1 thanks, mfg. I just ordered the shop manual, I an not an old-timer to the Avanti group, so I don't want to get sideways with anyone... Brooks

Brooks No issue with asking questions, many of the folks who come here know a LOT about the cars. But the manual will really help you as time goes on.
