What was the major interior change Studebaker had in mind for the 1965 Studebaker Avantis? (Had there been 1965 Studebaker Avantis!!)

2 "extra" door panels in the back? Egbert wanted a sedan & Lowey came up with 2 versions, a Fastback & a Notchback.

Not exactly what I was thinking of........This change was based on the 1964 Studebaker Avanti interior....With one difference!

ANSWER.....A solid 'saddle tan' interior color option....probably similar in color to the '58 Packard Hawk interior, but once again made using vinyl.....not leather.

Altman must have liked the look, as many of his Avanti ll's were built with a 'saddle' interior color!

The II's interiors were advertised as anything the customer wanted, but there were a lot done with the "acorn" color Gladstone vinyl both full vinyl interiors and with cloth inserts as well.
