grobb284 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Here are some new photos of the progress on the new Avanti chassis. Still in need of an Avanti body, so contact me with any leads: grobb284@aol.com We have just recently tacked in the X-member. This may be stronger than the original Avanti X-member. The reason for no provision for the drive shaft in the X-member is because the drive shaft rides 3/8 inch above it. This shows the installation of the Viper differential assembly. It too is a Dana 44 like the original Avanti, so it seemed appropriate to install it. The plan is to install independent Corvette suspension off of it. This is a '57 Chevy chassis under construction, with the Avanti in the back ground. Edited May 10, 2006 by grobb284
IndyJimW Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Will your frame fit all Avantis or just 63-64?
grobb284 Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 Will your frame fit all Avantis or just 63-64? Should fit all Avanti, shouldn't it? Is there any major difference other than body spacers? Asking, for I'm not that familiar with Avanti II's, just an observation. Best regards.
SBCA96 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Pretty neat project! Wow! I think that it would fit all "Studebaker" framed Avantis ... Tom
