courtesy lights

Restoring the electricity of my 1981 Avanti II, I would like to know how I can switch on/off the courtesy lights from inside while driving. Is there any buttons used for this purpose? Thank you for your help.

What are you referring to as the courtesy lights? To me the courtesy lights are the overhead lights above the back glass. The outside lights (to me) are the running lights.

The exterior running lights are already switched by the rocker switches above the windshield. If you mean the interior courtesy lights above the back windows you can trace the wiring down and run a jumper wire to a switch you can add under the dash where convenient. The map light under the dash directly below the radio has a manual switch already, plus it's also activated by the door jamb switches.
