Help with carpet installation tips

1)  What year is your Avanti?  1963's have considerably different carpets than 1964's.  Avanti II's might be different again.

2) Buy the best quality carpets you can find.

This is on my 1985 Convertible, so the carpeting will be some pieces from other years, and some I need to make myself.

Just general tips would be helpful. Still on the Studebaker chassis, so like other earlier Avanti's, but not like the '87 on up.
