Is the convertible top electric or hydraulic?

Is the top on a 1989 convertible Avanti electrically actuated by an electric motor or is there an electric motor that drives a hydraulic pump?

When I hit the switch on my 1989 Convertible, I can hear a motor running but nothing happens. Someone told me it might be out of hydraulic fluid if there is an electric motor that drives a hydraulic pump.

It is an electric motor that drives a hydralic pump at least in my -87
