wopony12 Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Has anyone installed rear disc brakes on a 1987 Avanti with factory wire wheels. If so, what kit was used. I am afraid the wheels won't fit on with calipers. Thanks
PackardV8 Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 Just asking, why do you feel rear disc brakes are needed? jack vines
wopony12 Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 May not be needed. Just something I would like to add.
PackardV8 Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 The only answer for which there is no argument! jack vines
Charlie Kile Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Making an adapter to add them might not be too difficult. However getting the correct balance between front and rear could be tough. Charlie RQB3921
IndyJimW Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I don't think that the wheels would matter, the clearance should be the same. I was looking at the kits on summitracing.com to install on my 87
boogieman Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Hey Jim. Looking at your photo album I see a hood pad inscribed "AVANTI". Where did you find that? Nice piece.
IndyJimW Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 Purchased from Gonzo Hoodliners. Gonzo passed away a few years ago.
