J Boyle
I'm thinking or replacing the rear main seal, timing cover gasket and the oil pan gasket on my 63 Avanti. I called the local shop recommended by some guys in the SDC and they said they might have to pull the engine to get to the pan gasket. Now I've been under the car and it didn't look that way to me. I feel like I was being told a story. And at $56 an hour, I don''t like long stories. What's your experience? Gunslinger
I can't say myself as it's been a long time since I owned my '63, but if you don't already have a shop manual, I'd suggest getting one and seeing what the factory procedure is for replacing the pan gaskets. That should be the definitive answer to your question.
