mfg
Hood support brackets on all Studebaker Avantis were the same, although on 'square light' cars these brackets were moved from the left to the right inner fender apron....True? plwindish
My understanding is that the hood support was moved to the other side with the Avanti II production. Edited October 14, 2014 by plwindish
garyc
There were many updates made when the August '63 production started. The hood support and new smaller battery were two of them. Access to the battery was made simpler by putting the hood support on the right side.
mfg
All true!...but was the bracket itself the same....whether left or right side mount?
garyc
The right side was longer and mirror image I think.
mfg
The right side was longer and mirror image I think. CORRECT!...the hood support bracket made for right side mounting was/is considerably longer.
