warren55 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 In 1973 the Avanti II used a wiper switch from a Chrysler Imperial. True of False? (I have a selfish reason for asking this...)
mfg Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Wow....good question!....I'll have to eyeball my own '73 (RQB-1967) tomorrow and see if that's a Chrysler switch.
warren55 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Report Posted August 22, 2014 I had mine apart a couple weeks ago, and it turned out to be bad wiring and not the switch, but out of interest I tried to find a suitable replacement. This is as close as I could find, and the back of the switch is identical to mine. The knob is different and there isn't a washer button that I know of, though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131228850627?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 And this is one is comparable and much cheaper. I was thinking of buying one "just in case"! http://www.ebay.com/itm/191269240040?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
warren55 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 The answer to this question is: FALSE! With the help of some Mopar guys, we think we have found the right wiper switch! Don't expect to find a replacement at your local FLAPS, though. It's from a 1972 AMC Matador or Ambassador. If anyone would have one, I imagine it would be Dan Booth. http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/400792,16973/1972-AMC-Matador_Photo.aspx
warren55 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 From what I've gathered, it was used from 73 to 76, at least. Luckily, I don't need one but it was just bugging me that I couldn't find any information on it.
