RobStand
This weekend I'm going to start the process of removing my gauges. I've looked at the manual for the process and gotten a few tips here and there. Do you have any suggestions for how to approach this task? Some of the tips I've seen include: -Have small hands -Remove the speaker in the center of the dash -Remove the driver's seat -Wear a head mounted light Do you have any tips to add? Thanks! Gunslinger
Unbolt and lower the steering column...removing the steering wheel itself is a help. Any wires you disconnect, tag them and where they were attached. The manual may have a schematic but the color coding on the wires is likely worn and hard to see. I wouldn't worry too much about the speaker unless you plan on replacing it with a new one. There's not much room to work over the radio. While you're at it...replace every dash light bulb while you're there. If they're original or you don't know when they might have been replaced, do so as it's such a pain you don't want to be under there any more than you have to. RobStand
Good idea about the bulbs. I bought a new set of gauge bulbs from Nostalgic a while back.
