lschuc Posted December 5, 2013 Report Share Posted December 5, 2013 Anniversary of Studebaker Closing – Dec. 20, 2013 DECEMBER 20, 2013 - Free admission to the public all day - Light refreshments will be served - New exhibit opening: “Studebaker: Preserving the Past, Pursuing the Future” (see attached Word document for brief description of this exhibit) - Facebook 50-day countdown (began Oct. 20) – daily posts of photos, questions, remembering (these are actually very cool!) - Recorded Memories – We would like to concentrate on former employees, but will accept video-recorded memories from anyone: 90 seconds each. To become part of our permanent Archives collection, looped in our visitor lobby area, possibly used in future exhibits, etc. - Scavenger Hunt – Those who get all answers correct will be eligible to win a Studebaker National Museum tee-shirt! - The Museum will be decorated for the holidays; our 1950 Champion convertible will be decorated and available for great Christmas photo ops. If you would like to interview former employees, please contact me for specific contact info. Activities are also being scheduled at Studebaker’s former body assembly plant, Building 84. Please contact Kevin Smith for details. Anniversary events will continue into 2014. The Studebaker National Museum is located at 201 So. Chapin Street just west of downtown South Bend. It is open Mon-Sat, 10am to 5pm, and Sun. noon to 5 pm. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $6.50 for seniors over 60, and $5.00 for youth ages 6-18.
