boogieman Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Stumped my insurance provider today. Seem they have no listing for Avanti, one or II, Studebaker or otherwise. Finally did an agreed value designation. They had no idea how to procede with the VIN #. $20,000, 5,000 miles/year, no deductables, high coverage, and $160.00 per year. This is in-line with my other specialty cars. So I be happy. You? Boogieman
Guest dapy Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 If your agent doesn't Studebaker or Avanti I suggest you switch to Hagerty. They are the best for old cars. I have four cars with them.
plwindish Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 The value is where I'm currently at with Hagerty for my 76. If you want to raise the value, you usually need to send pictures for documentation. They have been an easy company to work with. Their roadside service/flatbed towing also is easy to use and and they do take good care of you. Their rates also are quite similar to what you are paying.
boogieman Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 I checked with Grundy and Haggarty too. Was quoted $250 by both. Besides, I found that by adding the Avanti, as a stated value vehicle rider on my existing auto/home policies, the premium is only $130 a year. Thats an additional $120 I can put into the car. Win-win for me. Boogieman
Silverplate Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 I have insured my collector cars including our Avanti with Heacock for years. Great folks to deal with.
