Avanti2002
Are the rear disc brakes/pads etc GM? Edited July 7, 2013 by Avanti2002
Gunslinger
Yes. It's all stock TransAm. Replacement parts are the same and any aftermarket upgrades would be the same application.
J Boyle
Just out of curious...stock Firebird or Trans AM? Was there a brake upgrade within the Firebird line or by then had Trans Ams become a decal package with little or no performance upgrades.
Gunslinger
They're probably the same hardware wise, but often when there's a performance upgrade the car maker will install different composition pads. That's what I meant about specifying Trans Am. I used to own a Lincoln LS with the Sport option. That came with different pads as opposed to the standard LS pads. Same calipers and rotors, but "stickier" pads...and quite dirty as well. Those pads for the sport version put out much more brake dust and it was a pain keeping the front wheels clean.
