BillCA63R1
The map light under the dash operates whenever a door is open but the two rear vanity lights for the back seat only illuminate when their respective slide switches are on, whether the doors are open or closed. Are these lights also supposed to go on whenever the map light in front is triggered by a door open switch?
Gunslinger
That's normal. They operate independent of the door switches.
grobb284
I'm changing that on my Avanti. Having the rear dome lamps lighting when either door is opened, in addition to slide switch actuation. Recently powder coated the housings gloss white and installed new slide switches. Also LED lamps so as not to discolor the opaque lens with heat. Picked up the lamp housing assemblies at the national meet this year. I haven't seen any difference between the Lark and the Avanti assemblies, other than the Avanti ground. Does anyone have any other information than this difference? J Boyle
My underdash light won't turn on when the either door is opened. Buit it will turn on when I flick the switch. Any suggestions on where the trouble is? BTW: Great news on the back seat lights, i thought that was another problem. Both of mine work when I turn them on. Gunslinger
Check the door switches...they might be bad or have bad grounds. Not too uncommon considering their age and a fiberglass car.
