DEEPNHOCK Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Question for group: 1990 Avanti convertible. I need to replace the molded (rubber/plastic?) outer side weather seals on this convertible. Mine are 'hard' and I can break the flexible part with my index finger. There are 4 pieces, two long ones for the doors, and 2 short ones for the quarter windows. They 'look' like they were cut to fit (I can feel a rough edge at the one end). Does anyone have a source for these, or an interchange? (so I can go spend money with impunity!) Thanks ahead of time. Jeff
IndyJimW Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I have had very good luck with this company. http://www.restorationspecialties.com/ I was able to match my window trim For my '87 Avanti and they even coined the ends for me. Good luck, Jim Wood

Ernest Edwards Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 You can get them from Steele Rubber. They are Mote Carlo 88 and will have to be cut to fit. They can be replaced with some difficulty with the window in and down. Easier to replace if you drop the window from the lift. I have replaced them on 89 coupes and covertible. I think the Steele price was about $119.00 for the set with the crome insert.
DEEPNHOCK Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 Thank you Ernest... I have since found out my Avanti was a 1989 build that was licensed and sold in 1990. My rubber/plastic strips to not have any chrome inserts in them. Do you have any pic's of yours that you might e-mail to me? Thanks ahead of time. I do appreciate it.
