dudevato Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 I'm posting this for my brother, who is not too cool on a computer. He has a '76 and said he forgot how to open the trunk. It has an electric switch, but as it's in storage he hasn't driven it in years. Anybody got one of these fine motor cars? Thanks for your time and knowledge. dudevato in southern california - brother's in northern california
Gunslinger Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 I have a '70 with electric trunk release and the release button is under the dash to the left of the steering column. Your brother's could be different...it could be on the right side as it might depend on who wired it in at the factory. Just make sure the battery is charged and push buttons under the dash...there could be a rear window defogger switch there as well as a switch for the driving lights or emergency flashers. It could even be in the glovebox, but I've not seen an Avanti with that switch in that location. Regardless, it will likely be a simple spring loaded push button switch.
dudevato Posted December 10, 2008 Author Report Posted December 10, 2008 GunSlinger, thanks, I'll give him a call right away.
jmenacker Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 GunSlinger, thanks, I'll give him a call right away. Trunk release button is located on the left hand panel inside the glove box on our '82. Joe M
