My reason for posting the Pix really doesn't matter if it's a AI Gen or not. The concept is totally do-able and really not a stretch. Wide Body Kits,, basically the fender flares are not cost prohibitive and are available in fiberglass... A easy thing to adapt to our already fiberglass cars.. Then wheels and tires and about a 3" drop. Might as well use new drop spindles and the likes for the rear. An easy project overall. Ron.. That Pix is way too extreme and a flared mess. Cut em in half as far as depth and Ya got something.

Yeah, I'm not much for the metal structured fin or front air dam either., but would rather see a creative painted and well formed metal made structure. But the stance, wheels, tires and fenders are quite nice. I had been considering my '63' as a daily driver (cept winter and salted roads) I have my concerns doing so with a stock vehicle as this one is. BUT... To take a post '64' with a Chev V-8, and buying one for around $12k in need of resto, would leave a lot of financial room for modding up something like this...... My '63 would easily sell for around $40k... leaving a lot of financial room to turn out something like this. Bet it could be done for about another $10-12k out of pocket.

I saw this Pix on Facebook, and it is SOOO tempting to do one of these. I would NEVER cut up my '63' since it's 99.5% stock and that would be a Butchering.. But maybe there's a Project in my future.

Ok... Not for me.. Free shows or ones with a $20.oo entry fee are fine.
-
True.. but many are attending from across Country..Many are spending to trailer out, and the choice of California is cash cow to start with.,
-
Said it before.. I'm in this for the profits (and I enjoy automobiles) When events like this happen, it might be a fantastic thing, but to spend a few $$thou. just to attend an event,...I'm just not in the position to afford that opulence...or want to if able. It eats into the bottom line hard. By the time , either I trailer a vehicle (or a shipping company does) eats up a half a $$thou+..Registraton and what not, Hotels, then California and everything there costing too damned much.... I can see $2000+ just to walk around and talk Avanti..I can do that for No Cost at the Free Shows Before I even gave the idea a thought, it got shut down in my cranium. This is NOT SEMA... it's just a show of like minds,
-
I won't attend. The whole Car Show thing is turning in to an Elegant Money Pit. Many are transporting via trailer and spending on costly Hotel's . Sorry, but for me, it's gotten out of hand. ..... We have a Maggie Valley NC Studie Show.. which costs nothing. I'll be attending that one.

Ernie. Paint fade and age makes all of that senseless.. Just get it scanned.

2002 Avanti T-Top Coupe in Diamond Pearl White for sale
aardvark replied to ronmanfredi's topic in Avanti's For Sale
Value sounds right.. I wouldn't take less than $50k for mine and IF I put it up asking price would be closer to $55K+. Anything with low numbers under 400-500 is like gold and these cars were only 30-40 a year in production names.. Add to that, the sportiness. It all adds up. -
Ron. Your fortunate to even have a window sticker showing details (including paint color).. The only way I knew my paint color was from Your info (emerald green)., but as You state, the only way to match with paint fade and other issues over time is a ''scanner''.
-
Seems there likely isn't an answer out there. There are a number of unanswered issues with these cars.

Go ahead and find em. I want them to turn profit.

John ... Thanks for posting this. I understand Your scenario and relation to the Avanti Brand and I am extremely thankful for You filling me in on a few items in the past. Also Your Book is a Godsend to Us in the Avanti world... My frustrations are of minimal consequences but still frustrations..I would like info on the Build... maybe a Build Sheet or other such info. Is that required? NO! Coming up on age 72 I understand the age and frustration on complaints. If I've done so, forgive me.. So I own a ''02'' model and Love It.. It is my understanding that Ron Manfred has offered to help go thru Your paperwork. If He seems to be an upstanding individual maybe You Two can work on this info.. Thanks again for the Beautiful Vehicle. Dan O'

Some cars have come down,, others. seem to rise. You can't make a general statement on the entire Collector Market.
-
You ask for X and anticipate Y.. and if it falls to less than Y, ya don't sell and find another method to advertise. Disagree that $25-30K is a sellers price for a car of that caliber.. It definitely is a Buyers price.
-
Pretty car, but I would start at $40k... maybe higher. After all, it is a original R1. Anything in the $25-30k range seem to need some work and has some minor flaws.
-
Gotcha. My '02' is a Studebaker by Avanti. Not much difference, eh?
-
The reason I asked timeline is You could be inferring the 2001-07 models. Thus the AVX numbers.

John Hull's book, "Avanti, the complete story".
aardvark replied to aardvark's topic in 2001-2007 Avanti models
Ernie.. I have an "02" and am pretty sure of the production numbers for that year.. 1 of 33, 1 of 15ish convertibles and 1 of 3 in the green color. Those numbers didn't come from John Hull... they came from ''ronmanfredi'' (who posted above). He's been trying to put together tallies and numbers on our '01-07' Models. What has frustrated me is IF this was a (say) '69 Camaro, I would be able to read the vin and get ALL info on the vehicle... Not true in our cars. To me, value is somewhat based on rarity and there is very little to go on. -

Ernie. The book has some info You might want but the issue is it just doesn't dice deep into the production numbers and options. -

Thanks Ron. I can see it likely isn't going to happen. How old is John? Ok.. I'm skeptical.
