  1. Nice! My '69 looks alike:
  2. no one knows?
  3. I redid all the seals in my '69 Avanti II. No leaks except the hinge side of the doors. I applied the seals that are sold in the usual shops. On pictures on the internet, I see one mystery seal I do not have nor can find it anywhere. Does someone can give me more info on this part? Can I make it myself or buy somewhere? Thanks!
  4. I'm sorry, Dwight, but I think your ancestors drank too much on the boat from Europe to the promised land, causing them to forget how to use commas and periods. Just so you know: Since no one responded, out of desperation I bought a Studebaker Avanti solution. The advantage is that this solution holds the carpet better. I'm happy with it.
  5. When I read those instructions, I concluded that the seal furthest away in the photo is facing the right direction. That is how I did it on my car, anyway, and it looks neat.
  6. I would block the hot side and see what happens.
  7. The front is to low, the rear looks good to me.
  8. Yeah, I replaced all seals and felt but the window has still a lot of play. Seems so by design.
  9. And, did the strip stop the rattle? It didn't on my car...
  10. Should be very easy. I did it without problem. You mean these parts:
  11. Little bit cheaper over here, in the Netherlands: https://ccparts.nl/winkel/?s=avanti
  12. Press Caps Lock once, your contribution is unreadable if you only use capital letters...
  13. Good point! These were the only ones I could not change, the body is in the way. Does someone knows a trick?
  14. The rod should be 23mm if I remember well:
  15. I know, but the price and product are completely out of balance for me. I don't necessarily need new ones either; good used ones are nicer.
  16. I have the rubber parts but not the stainless metal parts holding it to the car. Doen anyone has some to spare? I live in the Netherlands and would like to make my '69 like new again! Thanks!
  17. Before I placed this grommet, my right shoe was toasted. With grommet, this was over. Get one or make one yourself from a grommet you've laying around.
  18. Nice, I did the same thing. Cleaning is the best solution. Only watch out for the spring while opening the switch 🙂
  19. I also run manifold vacuum. Edelbrock intake and carb on a 350.
  20. Probably not 😞 I'm in for this too, so did you succeed? I'm also wondering about the vent window front seal: Are left and right symetric or not?
  21. This is due to the construction of the gauge: It is a balance between the voltage of the battery and the resistance of the temp sender. I would suspect the temp reading here. check temp sender and gauge!
  22. I tried an electric fan also. It makes less noise as the original fan on the waterpump. But, the engine did overheat and I needed to go back to the original mechanical set-up. What also could be the case is that the temp sender in your fresh new block is not according to Avanti spec. I did put an resistor in series with the temp sender to get correct readings. You can also try to put the old sender in your new 350. So, this did not work although I put a lot of effort in it:
  23. But, if you live in a relative cool climate, normally, even with alcohol in the fuel, you should not get boiling gas in the carburator. My Avanti did have a sporty cam and ran a bit hot. I did fit a thick gasket between intake and carburator, that solved the boiling. Also, check the timing. If off (to late if I remember well), the engine runs hotter then intended.
  24. Well, I have aicon and this cooling kit on my '69 Avanti too.
