The Loewy Cocktail is $8.00 and is based on an old French cocktail called the Corpse Reviver

Avanti Night at LaSalle Kitchen & Tavern
Wednesday May 4th will be Avanti night at the LaSalle Kitchen & Tavern in Downtown South Bend.
There will be a special Avanti themed burger along with a Raymond Loewy themed cocktail.
There will even be special parking for all Avanti’s and who know we may even have a little Avanti trivia thrown in for fun.
Plan on having dinner with your Avanti friends on Wednesday May 4 during the SDC International Meet.
We will have more details in the coming weeks.
Please let me know if you are interested in attending.
See you all on the 4th.

From a forum post on 12/13/14 (ASR Sunroof repairs/parts)
Sky-top roofs were originally manufactured in St. Louis, Mo. They provided a lot of the sunroofs directly to Avanti. My 84 had a Sky-top roof, I am not sure when they discontinued using these in Avantis. Ernie retired and sold the business to Midwest Metal Fabrication of New Haven, Missouri in late 1991. They are somehow associated with Wenning Enterprises which has a website. They are located at 201 E Industrial Dr New Haven, MO , 63068
573-237-5500
I talked to them earlier this year and they indicated they still make and supply parts for the roofs but no longer repair them.
They indicated that the son of the former skytops parts supplier also located in St. louis, Auto Air Company now has a repair shop in Union Missouri and will repair these. I have misplaced his name and number but calling Midwest should provide that information.
I also know that Dan Booth has parts for Sky-tops.
I know this is old so I am not sure if it is still accurate.

Nothing about this restoration is standard :0. Most the fiberglass work was done, shall we say "half-ass". Looks like I am bending new metal. Who caries the proper pedials?

Can somebody please post a photo of an 84-85 manual pedal configuration? Do they drop from the top or up from the bottom? Somebody cut the gas pedal by 2/3's and are using an automatic break pedal on a manual car so when you try to hit the gas or clutch you always hit the break.
A photo of an existing car would help plus who would have a replacement for this year? Photo's of both the petals and brackets would give me some guidance. Trying to put everything back to factory.
Thank You

Herb Adams. I own the Mid-Ohio GT and we are in the middle of a total restoration bring the car back to it's configuration when it raced. Herb has been a wealth of information and inspiration on our restoration project. If I am not mistaken Dan Booth own's the Daytona GT.

Herb Adams did the chassis for the #28 Mid-Ohio Avanti GT and its body was a 1977 donor done at the Avanti factory. Both the Mid-Ohio car and the Daytona car are referred to as GT's but the Mid-Ohio car is the only one of the 2 with a true Avanti body, interior and engine. If fact the Mid-Ohio car was never intended to race, it was a prototype for the GT Blake wanted to build. The idea to race in the Showroom Stock race at Mid-Ohio was made after the car was built and Herb had only 30 days to put together a team and make sure everything was ready to race. No race engine, no fuel cell, no larger breaks, no racing seat. The only thing they did was fabricate a bold in roll bar.

Try Rollie Williams Paint Spot in Elkhart, IN https://rolliewilliams.com/ . They provide paint for places like Studebaker International. The owner is a board member at the SNM and a member of the SDC. I think they have that color in spray cans.

That would be The Kirkeby Center Building. I also think it is now called Occidental Petroleum Center.

What OEM battery was being used in 1984? Did they use a specific brand?

Thank You. Tried to PM you but it didn't work. Please contact me at 574-532-6927 to work out the details.
