mfg
I converted a 1964 Studebaker Avanti, equipped with power steering, to manual steering. I did this by simply removing the slave cylinder assembly, and the power steering control valve & pitman arm.....I replaced that with a manual steering pitman arm & drag link. (also, of course, I removed the power steering pump and all the associated hoses. I left the factory power steering 'steering box' in place. Result?....That Avanti steered very well going down the road, but even with standard 205/75 tires, it was a bear to steer & park at slow speeds.
