67AvantiTom Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Greetings! I've been plugging away at getting all of the interior lighting working in my Avanti. I'm having an issue with my automatic gear selector indicator light. It's dead. It's not the bulb, no power to it. What would be the best way to access it? Remove the console piece, or from under the car? How is it attached to the shift lever? T.IA. Tom
adamderosa Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 You can remove the gear selector assembly from inside the car. Remove the ashtray and the console trim around the shifter. There are two horizontal screws inside the ashtray bezel that need to come out. Once the trim piece is off you will see some large screws holding the gear selector to the console. Remove those and you should be able to pull the selector assembly up a bit and see the wiring underneath it. But before you do all of this make sure the fuse is ok.
67AvantiTom Posted November 7, 2016 Author Report Posted November 7, 2016 Thx for the info Adam.. I'll see if I can figure it out with your directions one weekend.
