SoCalMani Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 How do the 1991 Avanti IIÂ Convertibles compare with the prior and subsequent years in terms of power, handling, reliability, and value?
Stacey Posted November 18 Report Posted November 18 To my knowledge there are only 7 or 8 of the 1991 Convertibles, I bought mine in 2017 from a fellow who owned it since 1994 he said. On power, it is just the standard 305 GM motor and it is a cruiser, not a hot rod at all. I keep kicking around to repower mine, then somedays I think I should sell it and get something else. I do know it gets a lot of attention when we take it out for a ride. They are nice riding and comfortable, just not quick.

I just got mine from Gateway Classic Cars. I asked what major issues the car had and was told that the signal lights and the a/c (recharge) needed work. I had their local mechanic fix them. Once the car arrived, I discovered the top wasn't going down and there were some minor issues in the interior. Also, the driver side door was loose. By the time I drove it home from the local shop I found that there was fluid leaking from the radiator. Waiting for my mechanics to check out the whole car. Other than THAT! I wonder whether the motors for the windows and the top can be speeded up. 😃😉🤣
