BillyBob Posted July 4 Report Posted July 4 Couldn’t find someone to rebuild my failed ’63 Avanti auto trans. So…I started collecting parts to convert the auto trans to manual – using the 3-speed manual trans, bell housing, and driveshaft from my ’63 R1. Short about 10 parts – some “standard parts” - pins and washers); also needed are pressure plate, disc, release bearing, and bolts (available from Dave Thibeault) – I then found a shop to repair the auto trans. Asking $1,900.00. Will sell as kit only. Can deliver to AOAI 2024 Detroit – or your pickup in Michigan’s Bay Region. Can provide bill-of-materials and applicable Avanti part numbers and illustrations from parts book.
Jim Bano Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 What is the name of the shop you found for the transmission repair? I pulling mine this weekend and I want someone to do a thorough check/rebuild. Thanks,
