BillyBob Posted July 4, 2024 Report Posted July 4, 2024 Couldn’t find someone to rebuild my failed ’63 Avanti auto trans. So…I started collecting parts to convert the auto trans to manual – using the 3-speed manual trans, bell housing, and driveshaft from my ’63 R1. Short about 10 parts – some “standard parts” - pins and washers); also needed are pressure plate, disc, release bearing, and bolts (available from Dave Thibeault) – I then found a shop to repair the auto trans. Asking $1,900.00. Will sell as kit only. Can deliver to AOAI 2024 Detroit – or your pickup in Michigan’s Bay Region. Can provide bill-of-materials and applicable Avanti part numbers and illustrations from parts book.
Jim Bano Posted October 1, 2024 Report Posted October 1, 2024 What is the name of the shop you found for the transmission repair? I pulling mine this weekend and I want someone to do a thorough check/rebuild. Thanks,
