Rear brake parts for a 79 Avanti?

Hi folks. Im new to the forum and was wanting to know about the rear brakes on a 1979 Avanti II..

1) What type of brakes are used on this model, drum?

2) What brand are they, Bendix?

3) I'm in Canada ( 1 hour from the original Stude plant in Hamilton) so I need a good source for parts.

THis is all dependant on my ability to accquire the 79.

I've wanted one for years. Even though I prefer to have a round eye 63 Studebaker Avanti they are as always out of financial reach. If I do manage to buy it (the 79)I'll be back with many questions.

I know on my 82 the rear brake shoes are the same as a 78 Chevy C-10 Pickup. I don't know about the rest of the hardware.

I was very sucessful calling Dan Booth with Nostalgic Motors 1800 282 6849 or 248 349 4884 when I had and restored my 73 Avanti II

He is especially knowledgeable with the Avanti II's and has most all the parts

My '79 has a DANA 44. Same as used in thousands of Dodge and Jeep cars.

It is an 8-1/4" ring gear and very rugged. Parts readily available.
