mfg Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Avanti Motors never used shims between the rear axle mounting pads and leaf springs to change driveshaft angles......True?
mfg Posted January 1, 2015 Author Report Posted January 1, 2015 Would the factory have used shims in this location.....?
bigdaddy Posted January 1, 2015 Report Posted January 1, 2015 Don't know the answer for sure. Just a guess, but with the use of the OD. transmissions in the Avanti II's, it's possible that tapered shims were used to change the pinion angle. So, I'll say False.

bigdaddy Posted January 1, 2015 Report Posted January 1, 2015 Very perceptive!....Answer....FALSE Overdrive trannies tend to like a couple of degrees up on the pinion vs. a 1 to 1 output transmission ( 4 speed/ conventional automatic).
