mfg
Would the factory have used shims in this location.....?
bigdaddy
Don't know the answer for sure. Just a guess, but with the use of the OD. transmissions in the Avanti II's, it's possible that tapered shims were used to change the pinion angle. So, I'll say False. bigdaddy
Very perceptive!....Answer....FALSE Overdrive trannies tend to like a couple of degrees up on the pinion vs. a 1 to 1 output transmission ( 4 speed/ conventional automatic).
