Avanti Motors never used shims between the rear axle mounting pads and leaf springs to change driveshaft angles......True?

Don't know the answer for sure. Just a guess, but with the use of the OD. transmissions in the Avanti II's, it's possible that tapered shims were used to change the pinion angle. So, I'll say False.

Overdrive trannies tend to like a couple of degrees up on the pinion vs. a 1 to 1 output transmission ( 4 speed/ conventional automatic).
