mfg
In everyday operation, automatic chokes on Studebaker Avantis equipped with R2 engines have to be set richer (tighter) than chokes on R1 engined Avantis, due to the extra supercharger 'down' pressure on the choke plate....true? mfg
Sounds reasonable, True. It does sound reasonable...but the answer is actually FALSE....The choke setting is the same for the R1 and the R2 carbs. Any effect blower pressure has on the choke plate is negligible.
