mfg Posted October 13, 2020 Report Posted October 13, 2020 After watching the YouTube video of 63R1001, the first production Studebaker Avanti, being delivered to the Lemay Museum after its detailed restoration, I noticed there did not seem to be any door weatherstripping (seals) on the inside of the passenger door....there is also a good view of this odd omission on page 34 of AVANTI MAGAZINE Issue 183. I doubt if Jimmy Bell's shop could have forgotten these seals....Could the seals possibly been NLA at the time of this Avanti's restoration? They did, in my humble opinion, a first class job restoring this historic Studebaker Avanti!
mfg Posted October 15, 2020 Author Report Posted October 15, 2020 Afterthought.....Could the earliest production Studebaker Avantis have been built without the normal door weatherseals?
