plwindish Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 When doing a google search for Avanti convertibles used in TV series and movies, one site identified the models as Avanti Cabriolet. The window sticker for my 89 lists the car as a Sport convertible. Were there different trim levels on the convertibles or was Cabriolet used by the web site IMCDB (Internet Movie Car Data Base) as a term meaning convertible? BTW an Avanti convertible appeared as a regular in the later year original Dallas, Matlock, Knight Rider, Fall Guy, Battlestar Galactica, and Beverly Hills 90120. Movie appearances included Karate Kid II (the original prototype also was used in TV show Knight Rider), Montana, Internal Affairs.
plwindish Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 The Internet Movie Car Data Base seems to be a very complete listing of all vehicles appearing in the movies. Click on the movie title and it brings up a page picturing and identifying every car, truck, even tractors appearing in the film.
Tom Larner Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 Would you have the web address for that movie site? Thanks, Tom Larner
plwindish Posted April 11, 2014 Author Report Posted April 11, 2014 I forget the site address, but google Avanti's in movies and it should come up.
