The painting won the "Artistic Award" from Stellar Scholars for the artist and was the inspiration for young writers to compete in the Stellar Scholars "Aurora Awards" scholarship program. This was the second painting by Wieland commissioned by Stellar Scholars; it depicts the Avanti with sleek, silvery disks piloted by beings of alien origin. The first painting depicts an Avanti with the old Studebaker plant and an early-sixties South Bend skyline.
