kellyavanti
63R-1880 now has a throwout bearing noise. It screeches or grinds. So, is it better to pull the engine, the T-10 trans (if that is possible with the engine installed) or both as a unit? Thanks, Kelly
Twnchgr
The job can be done by just pulling the Trans. But you will need to support the engine. As the bell housing is the rear mount. Cutting a piece of woood 8" x 10" and placing under the oil pan with a floor jack will work..You can then remove the eight bolts holding the cross member in place. The T10 weighs a 100 plus pounds.A bit of muscle will be needed. You have to push the tail shaft up into the X- frame . Till the input shaft comes out of the bell housing. This job is explained pretty well in the shop manual.."Note" This job can be done by one person. but its easier and safer with Two...
