Guest dapy
Do we know the number of Avanti produced by manufacturers following Studebaker? These would include the Avanti ll, Blake, and Kelly cars. Like to know how many for each. Also would be good to know drive trains for each. What is the model year and manufacturer for RQB 3716? sat65
According to John Hull's book Avanti The Complete Story, RQB 3716 is a Blake Avanti from 1983. One of 212 made that year. The totals are 2252 Altman cars from 65-82, 576 Blake cars from 83-85, 346 Kelly cars from 87-88, 272 Cafaro cars from 89-91, and about 90 more from Kelly in 01-07. Charlie Kile
Get in touch with Dan Booth at Nostalgic Motors. I think he would be the most likely to have that information. Charlie RQB3921
plwindish
Dan would be the most knowledgeable person about the powertrains of the Avanti after Studebaker. Neuman and Altman's started with the 327, then 350, then 400, then 350, ending with the 305's. Transmissions went from the left over BW flightomatics to GM's TurboHydramatic(I don't know if they used the turbo 350, but know they used the 400), then on to the 200R4, then to the 700R4. Bob Johnstone's Studebaker Resource pages would also be a source for that information.
