My wife Joyce Hulen and I live in the historic Oleander Sunset district in a Clarence Cullimore Adobe built in 1937. I work as a freight conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad and am the Legislative Officer in the Local 835, United Transportation Union.

My interests include history including Studebaker corporate history, The Avanti Automobile and all Studebakers, classical music, architecture, historic architectural preservation, sound urban planning and art.
