hrhchazman Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 (edited) I need to order a new flexplate for my 67 Avanti II with a 327 Corvette engine. There are 2 available. One has 153 teeth, the other 168. One guy told me I need one, another guy told me I need the other. It's 24 degrees in my garage, does anybody know for sure which one is correct? I don't have a flywheel turning tool, and I really don't feel like climbing under there and counting the teeth while trying to turn the thing with a screwdriver (in 24 degree weather) WOW! It's been over a week and no replies, so I'm guessing nobody knows the answer to this ????? Edited February 16, 2007 by hrhchazman
SBCA96 Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Sorry for the lack of replies .. I started to give up logging into this forum since no one posted ... I never heard of GM using two different flexplates. I would assume that the part would have a number on it, or some other distingishing feature. You could measure the distance between the teeth on the gear, and then go to the parts store and measure the new part. Tom
