89 Back up light lenses

Just had my 89 repainted.

In the reassemble process my paint guy said that the back up lights and the front fender marker lights were epoxied in place. No brackets or screw holes, clips, etc. To mount , just epoxied in. He said pretty chezzy.

Anybody have info on such? Was this Avanti's answer to keeping them in place vs some additional engineering

. And if procedure is correct what type of epoxy should be used. They install from the backside.
