John Young
Hello all, After far too many years of wanting to care for an Avanti, I have attained the age where I must act on my dream. So, here I am, looking for a non-project car, a restored concourse quality Avanti. Or as near as I can get at a price I can afford. I am an architect and an art collector, but I have a whole in my dream and the Avanti is a perfect fit. If you have one for sale, or know of one, location of car is not an issue, please contact me... Best regards. John Young 166 Oak Island drive Santa Rosa, California 707 495 0311
SBCA96
If you have one for sale, or know of one, location of car is not an issue, please contact me... If you are not a member of AOAI and SDC, I suggest you go ahead and join both, that way you can look through the for sale ads in the club magazines. You will want to be a member anyway, to make sure you can get parts and such. You might also try Ebay, I already checked www.recycler.com, the only Avanti listed is an 87 vert. John Young
Michael, Thank you for the link to the Avanti in Maryland. I, too, had found this one during my first search. The list of choices is growing and making the choice difficult. Soon, I shall commit to the concept of owning this car; either that or be committed... perhaps both... Again, thank you. Best to you. Yes, I will be joining several Avanti Owner groups and continue the search. Best regards, John ....
J Boyle
John The neat thing about Avantis is that they are unique. No other car looks like them and they have become a design icon like the '61 Lincoln and the Jaguar E-Type. And they're affordable. My wife, a well-bred Englishwoman (why she married me I don't know...) isn't a fan of most American cars, but she loves the Avanti. Just today she said "I really like it...much more than I thought I would." I live an an architect desgined custom home and understand what you're saying about style...there is something special about the car. Have fun looking...and more fun driving. John PS. As a fan of great design, it might interest you to know two of the designers of the Avanti had Herman Miller Eames chairs...I found that out after I bought my car and chair.
