Avanti "S"

The Studebaker Avanti's unique "S" emblem, set into an outer chrome bezel, has over the years been nicknamed the 'Captains Buckle'.....True?

I thought the Pirate's buckle referred to the roof pillar emblems and the door interior emblems, it also refers to the hood emblem as well?

Gunslinger is right with a 'NOPE'! But plwindish brings up a good point questioning if the Avanti hood ornament is one of the 'Pirates Buckles.' My feeling is that it's a bit of a stretch...but probably is.
