mfg Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Trivia....Although the air outlet is rotated, and different pulleys are used, on the Paxton Superchargers used on Studebaker Avantis versus the Paxton Superchargers used on the Hawk and Lark series (with R2 equipment), otherwise, these superchargers are exactly the same and interchangeable...True?
Gunslinger Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 They were each SN-60 superchargers but were clocked differently. I assume you meant the same thing.
mfg Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 Yes, I was referring to the 'clocking'..so...any other differences?
brad Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 No, the Avanti, and Hawk/Lark blowers had different mounting holes and no holes drilled to mount on both types of brackets. One could disassemble them and drill and tap the correct holes, but they didn't come that way. Other than that they were the same internally, and dimensionally.
mfg Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 That's it!...I was looking for this different mounting hole answer...a very small difference, but certainly enough to prevent a quick swap from car to car!
