paint on 89 convert

I have two questions about the paint on my red 89 convert. Where is the paint code sticker located, and did the 89's have base coat / clear coat paint?

My 89 has the paint code sticker on the inside front of the driver's door frame, on the body where the door hinges are. I do not know about the base and clear question..

Thanks. The one place I didn't look! I checked a lot of other forums, and it appears all auto makers were using base / clear by 1989. One suggested using cleaner wax in an inconspicuos place and if the cloth picks up color it isn't clear coated. Thanks again.
