Guest dapy Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 We are close to installing my rebuilt engine in my 1964 R2. The Paxton is still out being repaired. The engine will be cranked up and tested without the supercharger. Doing this is beyond the experience of the engine shop. Others have said it is OK to run it without the Paxton including driving. Any advice including best way to filter air to the carb. would be appreciated. Since this may not be of universal interest, but is timely, here is my phone and email. PackardV8 Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Yes, no problemo. FWIW, there are usually more R2s running around with the supercharger belts disconnected or the supercharger removed entirely than there are pulling boost. All you would need to do is get a length of plastic pipe of the appropriate diameter to connect the air cleaner hose to the carburetor hat hose. jack vines
Guest dapy Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Jack, Thanks. that is a good solution until the Paxton is finished.
