cobrajoe74 Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Just got the September issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines in the mail. Started reading the article titled "Mister Versatility- Nobody has run hard in more types of race cars than Gene Felton"...turned to pg 33 & to my surprise is a great pic of the Herb Adams prepped Avanti II at an Escort (radar detector, not the Ford) series road race, the Mid-Ohio Six Hours, in 1984!!....as per the article, NOT the same car as raced at the Daytona 24 hours...didn't know this car existed!!! Too cool!!!
geojerry Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 This 86 Gt Avanti is alive and locked-up In a warehouse in Can Cun Mexico with other Avanti from the closed Avanti Motors site. It needs to be brought home.
Guest dapy Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Two Studebaker Avantis from the Cancun "Museum" were repatriated and sold in Miami earlier this year. I spoke with the seller. Both needed work and sold rather cheaply.
