j the teacher Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Hemmings blog site features some "NEW" pictures of the Original 4 door Avanti.. The pix were taken at the Glenmoor Gathering BTW, any news on the leftover 4-door mold that was in the old Avanti factory in Ohio? I had emailed the Studebaker museum about it, because I thought it might be nice for them to have, but haven't heard much.....
J Boyle Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 These cars have been discussed on the SDC four and in Turning Wheels. These cars are NOT Avanti prototypes...rather design studies for Studebaker sedans and coupes that would have reflected Avanti styling influences. Big difference. They were made after the Avanti was designed.
j the teacher Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 Yes, these cars have made their rounds of other publications. The Hemmings blog was featuring them as part of the Glenmoor Gathering (maybe it was the first time they were displayed as part of a show?). As for the topic title, I just took it from the Hemmings article. And for the text included on my link, it should be corrected, because they have 3 doors, not 4. Thanks for keeping me honest....
